Bryce Anderson – DTN Meteorologist
Tuesday Mostly Dry Across U.S.

The weather at midday Monday features a major winter storm affecting the Midwest with moderate to heavy snow over northwest areas, rain or some mixed precipitation to the south and east. Snowfall totals of 6-12 inches with locally heavier is expected in the northwest Midwest. This, along with blowing snow creating blizzard conditions will make for very hazardous travel conditions through tonight. Elsewhere a little light rain/snow is noted on the back side of the storm in Kansas. Scattered showers and thunderstorms are observed out ahead of the cold front in from eastern Mississippi into Alabama. » More DTN Weather Commentary
